You don't even have to go far

Two weeks of work and I haven't managed to fit a single walk in. The thing is, I'm a scardy cat so I don't brave it on my own and the boyfriend hasn't been off, none of my friends share the same passion as me, so I just end up 'deciding against it' maybe one day I'll be brave and do it alone. Anyway this evening after eating a huge shepherds pie feeling quite full, uncomfortable and in need of done fresh air. We got our jackets on and went for about a mile and a half walk around our local village and it was lovely! Thoroughly enjoyed it and will be something that I am going to start doing more of especially with the clocks changing at the weekend. It's also inspired me to try and do some alone walking, just locally to ease me in and to stop being such a girl about it!!

The bright lights of Nottingham this evening. (Or maybe not) On that note.

Goodnight

Something close to our hearts

So everyone has little dreams, I guess mine and my boyfriends is a bit twee and common oh and predictable but I can't tell you how much we wish to move to Cornwall one day and set up life down there. For both of us spending many holidays down by the coast in Cornwall in something we both did as children (we still go at least once A year now)  and something we both crave and pray that one day it will be our home one day, its something we often talk about. (My right move app is constantly filled with searches of ridiculous unimaginable country houses set in idyllic countryside setting- whilst the reality is two up two down in Nottingham!) We visited Cornwall early this year, Feb 2014 and fell even more In love when visiting the beautiful town of Port Issac famous to the home of Doc Martin! How perfect would it be to live here really. The walks that you could enjoy within minutes whilst enjoying both views of the sea and countryside is something that I will probably only ever be able to dream off, not to mention a quick stop off for a scone and clotted cream. We all know what the weather was like earlier this year in Cornwall, torrential rain and wind but this still didn't take the pleasure away of seeing this beautiful place. It was like a ghost town to be honest! As you can imagine any tourist town in Cornwall to be early feb, but that made it even better!

So thought I would share some pictures, we are defiantly going to head back this summer to see what it's like I'm the sunshine and plan a costal walk, because to be fair I honestly thought I would blow away!

Enjoy- and if you ever get the chance to visit this beautiful place please do.

This photos really don't do it justice- please note I enjoy walking, walking new places and seeing new places and I just want to share that with people, no way whatsoever am I a photographer :-)

Thanks again

Lumsdale waterfalls

First walk of the year. (See what I mean about time!) Lovely distance to ease me I for what I hope to be a year of it! Start off at the Tansley tavern pub (optional pint or maybe 2) walk down church street and then your walk begins- I cannot take any credit for this walk found on another bloggers sight from a few years ago. Thoroughly enjoyable, we had perfect weather, you venture through woodlands and along paths. And of course the waterfalls, would love to go back in the winter to see them frozen. Would recommend this walk to anyone.

Church street- left turn down to the knoll- up steep hill oakeledge lane- second right turn into the woods- follow along come out at small wooden bridge facing high field school- follow along lumsdale road- past the old mill cottages left hand side- down past the waterfalls and back down old coach road. More details found on walking lumsdale waterfall- just give it a google.

What to expect

Well I Guess...

I love the outdoors for the last few years I often find myself looking at other walking blog's, many have been an inspiration of this one. Walking is my favourite past time while my lifestyle doesn't really let me endure much walking time I use others as a form of enjoyment. So after a few years of pondering and nosing around other blog's I guess today for some reason I have plucked up the courage to do so. Yesterdays walk maybe being my inspiration. Expect walk posts, scenic photos (goes without saying really doesn't it) anything to do with tea and cakes and general lifestyle posts (anything that grabs my attention).

So being twenty something...

Many reading this may be twenty something or older all in all we all know what its like to be early twenty's. Currently trying to desperately to get on the property ladder, living in rented house with my boyfriend, holding down two jobs, looking after my pet rabbit rufus, desperately trying to achieve a grade C in maths and trying to start a carer in nursing, life is well lets say hectic- on a daily basis. Walking is something that gets pushed aside but I wish it wasn't. I don't think there's a moment where I'm happier walking any distance short or long, as long as there's a route in sight and a boost bar at hand.  The main aim of this Blog is to get out doing what I love more, and sharing it with people who have the same passion.

Anyway...

Enough of all that, I'm Abbi, I'm 22, I live in Nottingham, I can be within the peak district in 30 minutes where I try to do majority of my walking.
